Peter was Chief Executive Officer of IBI Corporate Finance (part of Bank of Ireland Group - market cap €17bn) Ireland's leading corporate finance house, for seven years ending September 2006. Peter's responsibility at IBI was to co-ordinate the provision of the firm's services to a wide range of public and private clients operating in a diversity of industry sectors. Some of the notable deals Peter advised on include the €1bn takeover of Jury's Doyle Group PLC, the €3.6bn takeover of Jefferson Smurfit Group, the €1.05bn buyout of Green Property and the €257.3m takeover of Arnotts PLC.

Peter qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 1987 and subsequently spent six years as a Director in KPMG Corporate Finance where he advised a wide range of Private Company clients. From 1996 to 1999 Peter was COO of Sigma Communications Group the successful mobile communications business with activities spanning antenna manufacturing, mobile phone distribution, systems integration and retailing. During that period the Group underwent a period of significant growth across all divisions and the successful sale of its retailing division 'Person to Person' to 'Vodafone Ireland' was completed.

Last year, Peter left IBI to establish FL Partners with Neill Hughes. He is also a non-executive director of Irish Continental Group plc (the owners of Irish Ferries) and Sigma Communications Group and is Chairman of the Dublin Theatre Festival.
